Kokoro, A Poetic Living Retreat

Our program includes rest and movement practices, twice daily meals, a private immersion with a matcha ceremonialist who comes from a long linage of artists and spiritualists, as well as creative circles & workshops taught by Emmie & Keito.
Late afternoons are spent however you like: journaling, working on your creative practice, exploring the local area, taking a nap or soaking in a herbal bath. After the evening meal, sip herbal tea, read and lounge on the tatami floors or stargaze from the balcony…
The Beauty Retreat

Together, we will bathe in golden waters, sleep deeply in spacious villas, practice beauty meditations in ancient temples, feast on fresh, local skin healing foods, learn beauty and skincare rituals and perhaps the greatest privilege of all — experience a live private performance by the masters of beauty, the elusive Geisha san. A very rare experience, even for people born and raised in Japan.

In a secluded forest along a mountain stream exists a hidden sanctuary in the form of a traditional japanese inn - it’s an image straight out of a dream. Early Summer in Kurokawa onsen is a special and potent time. it is season of celebration, abundance and creativity. The fertility of the natural world pours in through every window, covering the outdoor onsen baths in a gently waving ceiling of bright green leaves.
